AUSTRALIAN netball player Stephanie Wood described young Fijian talent as one to look out for in the future.

The well-known Australian side goal attack player is currently in Fiji as a tournament ambassador for the Grasshoppers Netball Festival which ends today at the National Netball Centre.

Wood said she was honoured to be part of the tournament and to witness what netball in Fiji had to offer.

“I am very honoured and privileged to be part of this tournament as an ambassador,” said Wood.

“I have no regrets of coming here because I wouldn’t have witnessed such an amazing talent of netball displayed here today.”

The 27-year-old said she believed developing netball talent in Fiji should be a priority.

“This competition is a really good initiative in keeping the talent alive.

“It would be great if young netball players are given more opportunities like this and they would be able to go overseas and make it to a higher level.”

The Grasshoppers Netball Festival ends tomorrow at the National Netball Centre in Laucala bay, Suva.
