Weather watch: Strong wind warning remains in force

A STRONG wind warning remains in force for land areas of Lau and Lomaiviti group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.
The weather bulletin issued from the national weather forecasting centre in Nadi this afternoon says a trough of low pressure with associated cloud and showers lies slow moving over the Southern and Eastern parts of the group.
Meanwhile, a high-pressure system to the far South of Fiji directs a fresh to strong Southeasterly winds over the Southern parts of the country.
The forecast to midnight tomorrow for Lau and Lomaiviti group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, expect strong Southeast winds with speed up to 50 km/hr.
Rough to very rough seas with occasional showers and few thunderstorms with isolated heavy falls.
For the rest of Fiji, expect occasional rain and few thunderstorms with heavy falls over the interior and eastern parts of Viti Levu.
And occasional showers and few thunderstorms with heavy falls over the eastern parts of Vanua Levu.
