THE breakdown in moral values in Fiji indicates that the church is not doing its job in touching the lives of people.

This was the message from New-Methodist Christian Fellowship general superintendent senior Pastor Atunaisa Vulaono as they entered the fifth day of their global conference.

The theme of the conference was ‘God’s consuming fire’ and was attended by more than 10,000 church members from across the country.

“Fiji needs spiritual healing because the rates of drugs and crime continue to be on the rise. If our morale is breaking down, this shows that the church is not doing its duty,” Pastor Vulaono said.

Also present at the conference was the Minister for Health Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete and Minister for Women Mereseini Vuniwaqa.
