Teams set for Pacific Games in Samoa

WITH only two months left for the much anticipated 2019 Samoa Pacific Games, the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) is finalising logistics and preparations for July.

In a speech during the FASANOC lottery draw last night at the Asco Motors Showroom in Nabua, Suva, Team Fiji chef-de-mission Patrick Bower said the teams were ready to proudly fly the Fijian flag.

“We are very confident and have laid our confidence in the athletes of each individual sporting federation to do Fiji proud and return knowing that they have done their best at the games.

“This will not be another outing for Team Fiji but it will be one where we will make a difference and try and get back to the number one stage,” said Bower.

Leaders from sporting bodies and the corporate community were present at the lottery draw where 13 prizes were drawn.

The main prize of a Toyota Hilux 4×4 double cab was worn by Iliesa Visanti of Delainavesi.

Other prizes included were 40 HP Yamaha outboard motor won by Tanoa Hotel Group, Bridgestone Tyres to the Value of $2500 won by Tanoa Hotel group, Panasonic HD LED TV won by Jedis Stationery, Dell Inspiron i5 laptop with windows 10 and Inkjet printer won by Thomas Johanson, weekend for two at the Outrigger Beach Resort won by Kurt Wise, two nights at the Holiday Inn won by Ratu Aca Ratuva, weekend for two at the Grand Pacific Hotel won by Toa Vaiika, weekend for two at the Uprising Beach Resort won by Nathan Powell, weekend for two at the Tanoa International Hotel in Nadi won by Nand Laenders, $500 worth of sporting goods from JR White won by Rusiate Naulivou, $500 shopping voucher from Courts won by Krystelle Whippy and $500 shopping voucher from Courts won by Kamal Singh.
