TAILEVU Rugby Union hopes to strengthen its club competition in the next rugby season after a successful finish to their 2019 season.

The union hosted the finals of their club championship yesterday at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.

Tailevu Rugby secretary Josefa Turaganivalu said the strength of the Tailevu rugby side is its foundation which was the different clubs in the province.

“The foundation is always important and for us it is our competitions at club level that will strengthen on the bigger team,” said Turaganivalu.

The team which had been promoted to the Skipper Cup competition was planning to come out stronger in next year’s competition.

“We want to improve this year and as we finish our 2019 season with the finals today (on Saturday) we believe we will come out stronger next year.

“Like I said, our foundation needs to be strong and coming into the club level and looking after our players because these are our sons who will be representing our side in next year’s Skipper Cup competition,” said Turaganivalu.

The 2019 Tailevu Rugby Union Competition ended yesterday.
