THE Suva Football under-14 side is hopeful for a good outing at the 43rd Vodafone Primary Schools Inter-district championships on October 17 to 19 at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
The boys from the capital city lost in the semifinal against Nadi in last year’s competition and are hoping to make a comeback with a different approach this year.
Team coach Raneel Prasad said the team had been preparing for weeks and were hoping to achieve good results.
“We are expecting to go as far as the finals and just improve from our mistakes and where we did wrong in last year’s tournament,” said Prasad.
“The boys that are representing the Suva district team are the ones we have selected during the Suva Inter-primary soccer competition. These are the elite players and they are picked based on their skills and fitness,” he said.
The team is pooled with Nadroga, Navosa and Taveuni in Group D.
