THE State has been given until July 23 to file information in a case involving a 32-year-old man charged with the murder of a New Zealand national.
Rusiate Sogotubu Raiwalui appeared before judge Justice Daniel Goundar at the High Court in Suva yesterday charged with one count of murder.
It is alleged that Mr Raiwalui, on May 8, 2019, at Qeleya Rd in Lami, murdered Ashkan Rikthegazader, who was found dead with multiple stab wounds outside the Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva.
The court heard the State objected to bail in the case and was yet to file bail objection and sought time to do so.
The State also sought time to file information and disclosures.
Defence lawyer Barbara Malimali told the court she was facing challenges meeting the accused at the Suva Remand Centre.
Justice Goundar remanded the accused.
The case has been adjourned to July 23 for a plea.
