Seismic activity: 5.1 magnitude earthquake recorded in Ba

A 5.1 magnitude earthquake was recorded in Navai, Ba this morning.

The Seismology Unit of Fiji’s Mineral Resources Department stated that the earthquake occurred at 8.37am.

The seismic activity was located 4.4km West-southwest from Navai in Ba, 86.64km West-northwest from Levuka and 75km Northwest from Suva.

The inland earthquake occurred at a depth of 61.8km, and it did not pose any immediate tsunami threat to the region.
