Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka said one of the highlights in the midst of all his high-level engagements in Wellington today was meeting ardent Fijian Drua fan, Ben Buist.
“He has been following me around today asking for an autograph. Thank you Ben for your support,” the PM said in a Facebook post.
“To all our supporters back home and abroad, lets all rally behind our Fijian Drua gladiators as they take on the mighty Crusaders in the Super Rugby quarterfinals in Christchurch this weekend.”
Mr Rabuka is on an official visit to New Zealand.
He was accorded a traditional Maori welcome before inspecting a guard of honour this morning.
The Fijian PM’s delegation was received by New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Hipkins.
After reviewing the 50-men and women guard of honour by the New Zealand Defence Force, Mr Rabuka was escorted into the Beehive where he held bilateral meetings with Mr Hipkins and his Cabinet.
He returns to Fiji tomorrow.
