MEMBERS of the public in the Central Division are advised that a new 132kV/33kV Transformer will be installed at the Cunningham Road Zone Substation this Sunday October 14, 2018 weather permitting.
Energy Fiji Limited (EFL) Acting Chief Executive Officer Bobby Naimawi in a statement issued today says during this period EFL will rely solely on its Diesel Power Stations at Korovou, Kinoya, Rokobili and Deuba to supply electricity to their Central Division customers from Matanipusi (Serua) to Balekinaga, Tailevu including areas of Deuba, Navua, Suva, Nausori & Korovou.
“The available diesel generation capacity in the Central Division is not sufficient to meet the power demand of all our customers in the Central Division during this period,” Mr Naimawi said.
“EFL seeks the assistance of our customers to kindly reduce their electricity usage for the duration of this outage,” he said.
Mr Naimawi said maintenance works are planned to be carried out on Sunday due to the low electricity demand on this day, which will result in minimizing disruption to our valued customers in parts of the Central Division of Viti Levu.
“Please treat every power line as live and stay clear of all power lines, as circumstances may cause any power line to be electrified at any time,” Mr Naimawi said.
