THE Fiji Rugby Union will be holding the fourth and final leg of the 2021 Fiji Rugby Union Super 7s Series at Churchill Park in Lautoka at the end of the month.

FRU national operations manager Sale Sorovaki said planning for the last leg had already started.

“The two-day tournament would be held on Friday April 30 and May 1,” the former national 15s captain said.

“The managers’ meeting would be held on Thursday, April 29, at Churchill Park.”

Sorovaki said many new talents were identified during the past three tournaments of the series.

“The eye for talent identification has never stopped and the FRU is keeping tabs on the new talents unearthed during the series which was basically the sole reason for adopting such a concept. We have an abundance of local talented rugby players and it’s about identifying and moulding them to represent the country in either 7s or 15s.”

Sixteen teams would be participating in the last-leg of the Super 7s series with new inclusion Bukuya being the 16th team.

Meanwhile, Police Blue team has unofficially won the series by virtue of winning the previous three-editions and leads the pack with 66 points followed by the Pio Tuwai-coached LAR Barbarians on 45 points.

Crowd favourite Raiwasa Taveuni has 44 points and make up the top three on the leaderboard.
