PEOPLE living with disabilities have lauded the role of civil society organisations, partner agencies and the government for advocating for their needs enabling them to be heard.
Speaking during the International Day of People with Disability forum held at the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat conference room today, Spinal Injuries Association of Fiji president Jope Kikau quoted from the Bible saying that love was the greatest even among faith and hope.
Mr Kikau said they needed to learn from their leaders in order to build solid foundations for the future of those living with disabilities around the country.
He added those leaders had laid down the foundation for younger leaders living with disabilities providing platforms on which to address their needs.
“Those that live with disability are powerful people because the challenge they face makes them become stronger.”
