Fijian trio instrumental in Qatar 7s victory

FIJIANĀ  rugby players plying their trade in Qatar led their club to victory at the 2018 Qatar Rugby Sevens Championship at the Aspire ground in Doha,Qatar today.

Isireli Biumaiwai, Pita Tuilagi and Iliesa Rakabu who also play for Nasinu Rugby Club and the Covenant Brothers in the Suva Rugby Union club games competition, were instrumental as they led their Camels Rugby Club to a 19-12 victory against Doha Rugby Football Club.

“It is an honour to represent Fiji in the game of sevens,” said captain Isireli Biumaiwai.

“We dedicate the win to our families and the the Fiji Airways sevens team in Capetown and wish them all the best.”

Biumaiwai said if the opportunity arises they were ready to come and throw in their name for a spot in the Fiji 7s team.

Twenty-year-old winger Pita Tuilagi of Qelekoro in Tailevu scored two tries in the final also taking the man of the match award.
