ABOUT five confirmed local football players are taking advantage of the transfer windows applying to other districts before it closes at the end of the month.

Fiji FA chief executive officer said there had been heaps of transfer applications coming in which should be finalised by the end of the month.

“We have a very interesting lot of applicants coming in and I can confirm we have received a transfer application from three Lautoka players in Beniamino, Mateinaqara, Samuela Drudru and Mush Shivam who wish to join Ba,” said Yusuf.

“There are heaps of transfers for Navua with former Lami players moving across to Navua because the Navua side will be playing in the top grade so there is a good chance for them to expose themselves,” he added. Nansinu goalkeeper Josaia Ratu has also applied for a transfer back to his hometown in Tavua.

Labasa’s Antonio Tuivuna has applied for a transfer back to the Ba side.

“We have yet to receive applications from Suva and Rewa but there likely will be a mass movement of players in these two districts,” said Yusuf.

The transfer window closes on the last week of January.
