“WE celebrate our unique existence together with our religious and cultural diversity, resembling a sense of unity and tolerance for one another.”

These were the sentiments of acting Divisional Commissioner Central Anare Leweniqila in his address at the Fiji Day celebration held at the Vashist Muni Memorial Primary School in Navua today.

Mr Leweniqila said the theme ‘Pprogressing together leaving no Fijians behind’ resonated the Government’s intention of ensuring that all Fijians were equally involved and were benefitting in the development of the nation.

He said initiatives were being put in place by the Government to ensure that development and assistances accommodated each individual across the community.

Mr Leweniqila said some of the initiatives included the agricultural assistance through the Fiji Development Bank, Small and Medium Enterprise development and Housing Assistance for first time home buyers.

The youth band provided entertainment while the people danced along to the beat.

Other activities included the oratory competition for primary school students.
