THE bail ruling in the case of two former police officers charged with one count of murder will be delivered on December 14.

This was decided after Kelepi Duri Tautaumacala Kolinisau and Selema Tikoenaburevere appeared before Judge Justice Daniel Goundar at the High Court in Suva this morning.

It is alleged that the two murdered Joseua Lalauvaki following an altercation outside a Suva nightclub on September 2, 2018.

Mr Lalauvaki died at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital on October 11, 2018, as a result of injuries allegedly sustained during the assault.

State lawyer Meli Vosawale objected to bail on the grounds of a likelihood of interference, as the material witnesses were police officers.

He added that the apprehension of the deceased was unlawful.

Mr Kolinisau’s lawyer, Barbara Malimali, told the court they needed the medical reports and hospital records.

The two have been remanded.
