Health Minister Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete says “for every 99 good things that frontliners do, only one is put up on social media and that seems to be the reason why the frontliners are not doing their part”.

He made the comment during debate on the 2021-2022 Appropriation Bill on Tuesday where he also extended his sincere condolences to the families of those who had lost loved ones to COVID-19.

Dr Waqainabete said this was extended to his family as they had lost loved ones to the virus as well.

“We have also lost frontliners and I thank the many frontliners, including the disciplined forces and civil servants and the many organisations that have worked hand in hand with us day and night and their resolve is exemplary,” he said.
