Champion Nadi to share $17k

THE Jack’s Nadi team players and officials will share the $17,000 prizemoney won at the Vodafone Fiji FACT at Churchill Park in Lautoka yesterday.

Nadi Football Association president Javed Ahmed praised the players for their hard work and dedication saying they will be pocketing the prize purse.

Young Nadi midfielder Patrick Joseph was named as the player of the tournament.

Nadi coach Pranesh Amarsee said the young players in their squad have a bright future.

Amarsee who has an accredited C-Licence said the 2-1 victory in the final against Suva is the highlight of his career.

“We probably go and relax and enjoy our win,” he said.

“Thank you to all the fans for supporting us and we owe this win to them.”

Suva’s Gagame Feni won the golden boot award. Feni scored six goals during game time in the matches and one from the penalty spot during the shootout against Ba in the semi-final.

Nadi goalkeeper Vereti Dickson claimed the golden glove award.

The player of the day awards went to- Day One: Ilimotama Jese (Ba), Day Two: Savenaca Baledrokadroka (Nasinu), Day Three: Gagame Feni (Suva), Day Four: Jeshal Kumar (Nadi), Day Five: Ame Votoniu (Nadi).
