Career workshop on women representation in STEM

A CAREER workshop focusing on women’s representation in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) was organised in Suva today.

The workshop was conducted as part of the 16 days of Activism against Gender Based Violence with the theme ‘End Gender-Based Violence in the World of Work.’

Emerging Leaders Forum Alumni coordinator Kele Gavidi said it was critical to acknowledge intergenerational relations.

“At the same time challenging societal biases limiting girls and young women’s decision making,” Ms Gavidi said.

The workshop which included about 20 teenage girls was organised by the Emerging Leaders Forum in collaboration with the graduates of Fiji Women’s Rights Movement Grow Inspire Relate Lead Succeed(GIRLS) program.
