Bigger and better

THE P Meghji-sponsored Warren Yee International Squash Championship will be bigger and better next year.

The four-day tournament, which concluded at the Northern Club in Lautoka last night, attracted an overwhelming response.

P Meghji executive director Romit Meghji said the company would continue its sponsorship next year when they expect to draw a larger overseas contingent.

Tournament director Eremasi Matanatabu said many new players entered the event.

“There were many close matches,” Eremasi said.

“Justin Ho and Marika Matanatabu proved their worth to book themselves a spot in the main final. They are our medal contenders for next year’s Pacific Games.”

The tournament attracted three players from Samoa.

Meanwhile, the men’s A Grade final between favourites Justin and Marika was being played when this edition went to press last night.
