A CALL centre in Suva is expected to create more than 150 job opportunities in Fiji however is currently operating with 38 staff members.
Supercharged Energy Fiji is an energy company for customers based in New Zealand and Australia.
Supercharged Energy Fiji director of operations sales and marketing, John Charles Harrop, who is originally from Australia, said they focused most of their business towards the commercial sector for New Zealand and Australia.
He said the call centre was mostly an outbound operation however they did receive inbound calls which they were hoping would increase.
“We speak to 100s of businesses every week between both countries and we put forward a package for them to save money on their electricity bill by using renewable energy.
“We are offering a structure that no one else is offering at the moment, that is we are bundling free solar panels in a package to our customers in New Zealand to actually have that as well as their cheap energy prices,” said Mr Harrop.
The call centre employs people based on their preference to either work full time or part time.
The company was founded by Mr Harrop’s business partner John Telfer and they have invested more than $700,000 into the call centre in Fiji.
Mr Harrop who visited Fiji in 2004, said he really liked it and when Mr Telfer told him that they needed to open up a call centre, they did some research and found out that Fiji had a market for call centre agents becoming very well sought after.
He said they operated call centres to see their feasibility and found a solution for themselves.
Mr Harrop highlighted that they were thinking of expanding by opening up another office and discussions were in the pipeline.
